During my time playing a variety of sports including cricket, golf and football I have had my fair share of injuries and hence learnt the importance of not only looking after an injury but ensuring it does not reoccur.
Having completed degrees in Exercise & Sports science and Physiotherapy I have a passion for devising exercises to relieve pain, strengthen muscles and improve performance. Additionally during my time as a senior personal trainer I learnt the importance of exercising with the correct technique and having a program that ensures peak performance and prevents the onset or reoccurrence of injuries. This is accomplished through a balanced individualised approach catering for the individual’s physique and history.
As a physiotherapist it is my belief that our goal should not only be recovery, but to improve your performance beyond previous levels. This is can only be achieved through a client centred approach that uses the client’s goal as the overriding principle, then a pathway is worked out to achieve this. This enables a more interactive approach and a treatment plan that is tailored to the needs of the patient establishing a framework to move from ‘Pain to Performance’.
